Old Fashion Dress Form

Old Fashioned Dress Form

This first card is mostly TIM HOLTZ. It is a 5 ½ by 5 ½. The base cardstock is black and the print cardstock is by Jillibean and it’s 5 ¼ square.

The borders on the side edge are both ON THE EDGE borders by Tim. The black one is the Ornate (656626) and the brown is Scrollwork (656624). The dress form is a stamp from Tim’s Seamless Experience stamp set. (CSS30225) I stamped it in Versafine black ink. Versafine stamps nice and crisp. (I always use this ink except when coloring with Copic markers and then I use Momento black ink because it doesn’t smear with markers.)

Now using the Tim Holtz Sewing Room Dress form die (657186) cut out three buttons…you can cut them all at once, and the thread spool. Tie thread or cording through the buttons and wind some more around the spool. Tape it on the back so it looks like the loose end is sticking up on the top. You can put a needle in it, but I’m going to mail it so I didn’t think that was the best idea.

On the inside I’m going to put three more buttons and write “I miss you SEW much!!” (You could say I Love you SEW much too.)

You could also write that on a tiny tag and put it on the outside yet…there’s plenty of room.

I love this old fashion look of the dress form.

Old Fashioned Roses

Speaking of Old Fashion ….I must have been in that mood because here’s another Old fashion card. I picked up the most darling paper

Pack the other day. I’m not real big on paper packs but this one is adorable. It’s called Glitz-Pretty in Pink and it I love it!!!! I can’t wait to get more of it!! Another thing I just got is the new Spellbinder Floral Oval (S4-356). I have tons of Spellbinders but you really have got to put this on your must have list. It is a keeper!! I have been seeing it on so many cards I loved and it is really gorgeous. I especially love the teeny tiny pierced holes all around the lacey frame. It is beautiful and makes every card look awesome.

I didn’t do much of anything on this card but cut a piece of 5 ½ by 5 ½ piece of light brown paper and a piece of 5 ¼ by 5 ¼ piece of the cute glitz pretty in pink paper and put them together. Then I was dying to try my new floral oval die cut. ( Be sure to either rub a dryer sheet over your new die or put a piece of waxed paper in between your paper and cutting die or you will spend a lot of time digging out little tiny pieces of paper from your die and using them will not be as much fun.) I used the largest die from the set for this card, isn’t it pretty? The saying is an old Penny Black saying that’s so fun. I cut a slit in the seam of the card and tied a wide piece of brown organdy ribbon in a bow. I think I bought it at Wal-Mart.

On the inside I cut a smaller die from the set….sooo pretty. I love this set.

Then I stamped one of my favorite Happy Birthday stamps. This is from Endless Creations and comes in two sizes and I just LOVE it and use it all the time. (Happy Birthday- two sizes F53-D86) This is the larger size Happy Birthday. I love the font. Isn’t it a great stamp?

Edgy Card

And now for something totally edgy and so not me!! Do you ever have one of those days where you just want to do something fun and different? Well here it is. We’ll just call this EDGY!!!

I wanted to use my new Spellbinders Wings of Hope (S5-101) die. In hindsight I’m thinking this card would look kind of cool in all white or cream. I’ll have to try that and I’ll let you know how it turns out. Instead I picked up a peace of two sided paper and this is what happened. I used Tim Holtz Sewing Room Dress Form (657186) the wings and butterfly are both from the Spellbinder Wings of Hope. The butterfly turned out cool. I cut it out of a purple paper but once it was embossed, I sanded it and after the white came through used a distressed blue ink on it. The color is really gorgeous. There is so much on this card you really can’t see in a picture. There are lots of rhinestones and a lot of depth. It’s just crazy fun. Everyone needs to go crazy once in a while. Now I just need to think of that perfect person to give it to who will appreciate it…ha-haJ Hope you enjoyed these cards.

Have a great day, Mary Lynn
